I qualified from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2009. I subsequently completed my community service year at Kimberley Hospital in the Northern Cape, where I provided speech and language therapy services to patients presenting with a wide range of communication and swallowing difficulties.
In 2011, I returned to Cape Town and chose to focus on the area I find most meaningful and rewarding- paediatric speech and language therapy. I joined Eros School for Children with Cerebral Palsy, working as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. In this role, I provided intervention to learners with diverse special needs and barriers to learning, gaining invaluable experience in supporting children with complex communication profiles.
After seven years in this setting, I established my private practice, Speech and Language Therapy by Aeysha Ebrahim. Over the past nine years, the practice has grown steadily, both in terms of the team of therapists and the number of children supported. Services are offered across the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town and include in-practice sessions, school-based therapy, teletherapy, and home visits.
Our approach centres on play-based therapy, creating engaging and meaningful opportunities for children to develop their communication skills in a supportive environment. We provide intervention for children experiencing difficulties in the following areas:

- Early literacy
- Auditory processing
